This episode Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai kicks off with a lighthearted quarrel between Abhira and Armaan. According to her, he has a tendency to spend money thoughtlessly – such as purchasing her the costly heels. Abhira questions how she is even meant to utilize such an extravagant piece of clothing. Armaan responds, somewhat coldly, saying she can go wherever she wants – just not with baby Pookie. Abhira, feeling insulted, stubbornly refuses to wear the heels. He brushes it off now claiming that she should be more focused on the baby instead.
At the Poddar household, it’s Mother’s Day so they come together to celebrate. Kaveri jokingly asks Sanjay to bring her gift, and this time around, he sheepishly admits that he completely forgot. Emotions run high when Vidya brings up Rohit. She makes a point to note, including Armaan, that to her, Armaan feels like her former husband’s brother and that Rohit would have clung onto Pookie. Quietly, Armaan adds onto the statement saying Rohit certainly would have enjoyed being around the baby.
In a lovely family tradition, the men offer to relieve the women of their chores, offering to take over the kitchens so the women can rest. Charu and Kiara also volunteer their help. As everyone participates in this good energy, Armaan starts acting strange out of the blue. When Vidya tries to assist with Pookie, he shows mild signs of not wanting to relinquish control of the baby. Abhi and Mira can tell something is off, but decide to pretend they don’t notice.
In the meantime, a minor confusion creates some drama—Abhir sends a text message “I love you” to Charu, but Kiara reads it, causing the three of them to have an uncomfortable confrontation.
Inside the house, Armaan’s concern for Pookie grows stronger. He refuses to let Abhira hold the baby for long, and he scolds Kajal for swaddling Pookie too tightly. He even accuses Manisha of waking her up. The women—Kajal, Manisha, and Vidya—are insulted and hurt. Abhira and Kaveri share anxious glances, observing how Armaan’s overprotectiveness is already beginning to impact everyone.
Even in the kitchen, Armaan can’t help but fixate on Pookie. He requests Abhira to fetch the milk for the baby, but once she does, he checks the temperature twice himself. When Abhira informs him she’s already checked, Armaan refuses to let up. “You don’t mind, right?” he queries. Abhira is too shocked to respond, visibly shaken by the distrust.
Later, during a moment of silence, Abhira questions Kaveri why she had previously told her that Armaan would return to his old self once the baby was born. Kaveri is speechless. Abhira observes how the family walks on eggshells around Armaan, not wanting to disturb him. She starts to understand that Armaan is still tormented by his past, and it’s making him overly protective of Pookie. Deep inside, she questions how to make him heal.
Precap: Abhira’s favorite Pookie gets suddenly ill, and she goes into panic mode. Armaan is stunned and terrified and takes the baby to Ruhi. Kaveri attempts to stop him, telling him he’s being foolish. But Armaan, rattled and emotional, tells her, “Abhira has no bond with the baby.” Abhira is stunned and heartbroken.
